Pierre Ieong (pronounced “Young”) is a writer-director, producer, and editor based in New York City with roots in Paris and Macao SAR. He is the founder of Film Follies, a production company dedicated to bold, auteur-driven cinema and artist-led commercial work.

As a producer, Pierre champions cross-cultural narratives, queer cinema, and boundary-pushing independent films. His producing credits include Man Made Lake (dir. Annie Ning), in competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival Orizzonti Short Films competition, and Strawberry Shortcake (dir. Deborah Devyn Chuang), winner of the VIFF Short Forum Award, and selected at Sitges, Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, and NewFest, among others.

Pierre is currently developing Deborah Devyn Chuang’s narrative feature Strawberry Shortcake, expanding upon their 2024 short film of the same name. His development slate also includes Helio Pu’s narrative feature This Side of Paradise, developed through TorinoFilmLab, an intimate exploration of cross-cultural family fractures centered on a Chinese trans man living in exile in France; and Pablo Tamarin’s narrative short Chef’s Kiss, supported by Indian Paintbrush, about a French expatriate fine-dining chef whose increasingly daring culinary experiments unfold in Taipei.

As a director, Pierre’s work includes Flake, selected at Out On Film: Atlanta’s LGBTQ Film Festival; Through the Eyes of Yves; and O, currently in post-production. He also directed Djinn Under Contract for ReelShort, a breakout vertical drama that surpassed 100 million views by August 2026. His commercial work includes projects for Apple, Hermès, and Chanel Fine Jewelry.

As an editor, Pierre edited Priyanka Krishnan's narrative short Flowers Bloom When Touched, which premiered at the 2026 Fantasia International Film Festival, and is currently in post-production on Zonia Pelensky’s Expulsion, starring Jemima Kirke (Girls).

Drawing on his multicultural background and fluency in French, Mandarin, English, Portuguese and Cantonese, Pierre specializes in international co-productions spanning France, the United States, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. His work gravitates toward stories of displacement, identity, sexuality, and cultural collision, connecting emerging cinematic voices across Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Pierre holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University, a Certificate in International Co-Producing & Financing from La Fémis, and a degree in French Law (Licence en droit)  from Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas.
